RYAN MAGUIRE TURNER

Ryan was born on November 16, 1989 in Portland, Oregon. Deciding to love Christ at an early age, Ryan gained an early maturity that would help sustain him and many others during difficult times that would come.

Ryan was very unique! He was active in Awana’s and quickly demonstrated an ability to internalize scripture. At the age of four, he had the ability to take direction and carry out instructions given him by production directors for print, television and music video projects. Working at times with crews of a dozen people or more, Ryan quickly earned a reputation for his abilities to portray a child of his actual age, which is unusual in the industry. Some of his accomplishments, notably the music video "For Pete's Sake" can still be seen on Christian and Country music television programs today.

Ryan thrived in Tae Kwon Do from age five to seven, progressing easily through numerous belt classes. He loved fishing and any lake activity, he participated in soccer and he was an accomplished swimmer! Ryan was looking forward to learning to hunt.

Ryan loved his sisters dearly!

Ryan was diagnosed with leukemia in January of 1997. Throughout his seven months of treatment, Ryan maintained a brave, courteous and uncomplaining attitude with his family and the caregivers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University. He demonstrated a faith and a love for Christ that continues to impact peoples lives today.

Ryan lost his battle to leukemia on August 15, 1997. He is in heaven…..safe, happy and whole!
